Marlo Solid Wood Shrimp Kinetic Sculpture

Inspired by the narwhal, a distinctive creature often called the unicorn of the sea, this wooden automaton captures the feeling of an underwater journey in a small tabletop sculpture. Its elongated tusk and streamlined silhouette give the design a recognizable character, while the sense of movement brings a playful quality to the piece.

The automaton concept adds another dimension to the design. Rather than remaining a static figurine, the narwhal is designed to evoke the motion of swimming, turning a familiar marine animal into an engaging mechanical display. The combination of movement and sculptural form makes it as interesting to interact with as it is to look at.

Natural wood brings warmth to the design, balancing the imaginative subject with an understated material presence. The grain and tonal variations give the piece its own character, while the handcrafted approach adds a sense of individuality to the finished object.

Designed for desks, bookshelves, and display surfaces, this little narwhal brings a touch of ocean-inspired curiosity into everyday surroundings. It also makes a distinctive gift for birthdays, holidays, or special occasions—especially for those who appreciate marine life, mechanical toys, and objects that combine craftsmanship with a sense of wonder.
